Trauma Treatment

Are you navigating the lasting effects of trauma?

Trauma is the result of experiences that were overwhelming and could not be processed at the time due to a number of factors, including lack of support and ongoing stress. Traumatic events are both singular events and chronic events that happened over a longer period of time.

Trauma can also occur from missed experiences in childhood that were essential for development, such emotional attunement, repair and caregivers having tolerance for your negative emotions.

“Trauma is the threat to our inherent need for safety, belonging and dignity” - Staci Haines (2019)

Trauma leaves the nervous system mobilized for danger. Untreated trauma symptoms include overwhelming emotions, anxiety, depression, flashbacks, relationship issues, and physical symptoms.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist experienced in treating trauma symptoms. Trauma therapy can reduce symptoms by helping you make sense of your overwhelming emotions, create emotional stability by learning coping strategies, and gently process emotions and sensations related to your trauma.
